I’m starting a new series about THINGS I DON’T UNDERSTAND. Let’s get started with Exhibit A. I found this ad in a HAIR magazine this week. Upon first glance, what would you think this is an ad for???
Toothpaste was the FIRST thing that popped into MY head, naturally. I wonder how many 10-year old boys were suddenly eager to improve their oral hygiene after this.

This goes to show what a word junkie I am. When I looked at the ad, my eyes zoomed straight for the copy. After I read it, I was like, “Dude, this is so unequivocally about toothpaste. What’s CJ’s confusion?” It wasn’t ’til a few seconds later that I noticed the naked woman. Yikes.
WTF.
And why is a little kid quoting questionable facts? If my kid burst into the bathroom shouting DIRTY TEETH CAN KILL YOU PREVENTDISEASE DOT COM, I think it’d be time to see a psychologist.
This series has a lot of potential. Some of the best things in the world are those that make no sense.
Why is that woman standing completely dry standing in a shower for her kid to bust in on her anyway?
That ad makes me NOT want to use their toothpaste. What a bunch of perverts.
